Bonnie Burn is the founder and principal of DISCcert, a San Diego-based DISC training firm. As an expert corporate trainer and executive coach, Bonnie specializes in helping organizations produce clear communications by utilizing a communications tool, the DISC, to effectively build and maintain highly successful teams, as well as a culture that embraces change and creates a proven path for increasing sales and exceeding customers’ expectations.
Bonnie started her career in marketing and sales and went on to become one of the national sales trainers for ADVO, the world’s largest direct mail company. She was then recruited by the San Diego Union Tribune. While the Tribune’s Advertising Sales Training Manager, she turned around a failing direct mail program and created an d implemented a management training program that helped change the metropolitan newspaper into a national leader. Once this was accomplished, Bonnie started her DISC training company, which has provided highly-interactive, results-oriented training programs to over 20,000 people in the past 15 years. Bonnie’s 25-year reputation as a high-powered, high-achieving expert corporate trainer led her being contracted by the business publishing leader Jossey-Bass/Pfeiffer to author “Flip Chart Power”, which teaches other trainers how to engage learners for optimum output. In addition, as an assessment expert that shows organizations how to expedite needed results, she was contracted by Jossey-Bass/Pfeiffer to author “Assessments A to Z” as well. Both resources are now utilized nationwide.
Bonnie’s extensive Communication and Leadership Credentials include: Certifed Behavioral and Values Analyst from Target Training International (rated #1 international assessment center.) Her depth as an expert corporate trainer is augmented by her additional certifications in Emotional Intelligence and the renowned Situational Leadership Program. She is a nationally established Master DISC Trainer, who has designed and trained others through a two-day DISC Certification Training Program. Bio
Bonnie Burn was born February 11, 1953, in Glendale, CA. She grew up in California and graduated from Mar Vista High School, in San Diego, as the ASB President. Her college journey began at USIU; Cal Western in Point Loma, CA (now the site if Point Loma Nazarene University.) She then transferred to the Claremont Colleges, specifically the Behavioral Pitzer College. Her focus for two years was in psychology.
Advertising sales and training became her first career choice. Miss Burn soon became a national Sales Trainer for ADVO (world’s largest direct mail company.) She was recruited to be the Advertising Sales Training Manager first for the SD Union Tribune, where she transformed a failing direct mail program into a high-profile success.
In April 1994, she moved forward with her dream to have her own training company. Soon to follow, was the business publishing leader, Jossey-Bass/Pfeiffer contracting her to author “Flip Chart Power” and “Assessment A to Z”. Both resources are now utilized nationwide.
Today, her training company is known nationally for its excellence in DISC Training, DISC Train-the-Trainer, and DISC Certification Programs.
